Serpong, September 9, 2026 – Multimedia Nusantara School (MNS), a technology- and character-based school under the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation (Yayasan Multimedia Nusantara/YMN) and the Kompas Gramedia Group, has officially begun the expansion of Building C in the Gading Serpong area, Tangerang. This strategic step comes in response to MNS's rapid student growth, which has now surpassed 1,100 students from Preschool through to High School in just two years.
Thegroundbreakingceremony opened with remarks from the Chairman of the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation (YMN), Teddy Surianto, followed by a joint prayer, the symbolic laying of the first pillar marked by the sounding of a siren, and the cutting of a tumpeng (traditional cone-shaped rice dish) as an expression of gratitude. The event concluded with a group photo session and a reception attended by leaders and representatives from the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation, Multimedia Nusantara University, Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic, and Multimedia Nusantara School, as well as the architectural team and construction contractors for the MNS building.
An Expansive Response to Public Trust
MNS's expansion has moved forward rapidly since the inauguration of Building A on July 8, 2025 for the Preschool and Primarylevels, followed by the groundbreaking Building B for High School on February 9, 2026, and now the start of construction on Building C.
In his remarks, Teddy Surianto, Chairman of the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation, emphasized that the construction of Building C is not merely a physical addition, but a reflection of the responsibility that comes with the strong trust the public has placed in MNS.
"MNS continues to grow rapidly. From the beginning of our journey, when we were entrusted with around 300 students at the inauguration of Building A last year, today MNS's student body has grown to more than 1,100 students, from jenjang Preschool through to High School. This extraordinary trust from parents motivates us to keep expanding our capacity and providing the best educational facilities. This Building C expansion affirms the continuity of the vision held by Kompas Gramedia's founders, the late Mr. P.K. Ojong and Mr. Jakob Oetama, in educating the nation," said Teddy Surianto.
Learning Spaces Tailored to Children's Developmental Stages
The construction of Building C has been carefully designed to support children's developmental needs during theirgolden age. In this building, the lower floors will be dedicated to Preschool students (starting from age 2), providing a safe, comfortable, and conducive space for early childhood learning and exploration. The upper floors , meanwhile, will be allocated specifically for Primary 1 students (ages 6–7), serving as an ideal and comfortable transitional space for children moving from Kindergarten B to elementary school.
As with previous MNS building developments, Building C is being constructed upon firm principles of sustainability through an environmentally friendly, energy-efficient (green building)concept, integrated with future-ready technology. This design approach ensures that the facilities not only support academic achievement but also help shape students' good character.
Through strong synergy between YMN, MNS, the construction team, and parents, the development of MNS's Building C is expected to proceed smoothly and safely, and to be ready to provide optimal benefits for the growth and development of the nation's next generation.
